NVIDIA is an accelerated-computing company whose chips, simulation software, edge computers and open robot models now form one of the broadest technology stacks in physical AI.

Why NVIDIA matters to robotics

NVIDIA’s robotics position extends well beyond graphics processors. Its Isaac platform connects synthetic-data generation, simulation, robot learning, evaluation and deployment, while Jetson systems provide on-robot computing. The Isaac GR00T family adds open foundation models designed for humanoid reasoning and action.

In March 2026 NVIDIA released GR00T N1.7 and previewed GR00T N2. In May it announced a reference humanoid that combines a Unitree H2 Plus body, Sharpa hands, Jetson Thor compute and the Isaac GR00T software stack. The reference robot is expected to be available through Unitree in late 2026; that date remains a forward-looking company target rather than confirmed shipping.

UK and European relevance

NVIDIA technology is already used by robot manufacturers and research teams globally, including European developers. For buyers and integrators, the important distinction is between open model availability, access to supported developer tooling and the availability of a complete robot system: those are separate layers and should not be treated as equivalent.
