Atlas is Boston Dynamics’ all-electric humanoid robot for industrial material handling, machine tending and other physically demanding work.
Status and capability
The product version of Atlas was unveiled on 5 January 2026 and entered manufacturing immediately. Boston Dynamics lists 56 degrees of freedom, a 1.9-metre height, 90-kilogram weight, four-hour battery life and IP67 protection. Its rated payload is 30 kilograms sustained or 50 kilograms instantaneously, with a 2.3-metre maximum reach and a self-swappable battery.
Deployment evidence
Atlas is not yet broadly commercially available. Boston Dynamics said all 2026 deployments were committed to Hyundai Motor Group’s Robotics Metaplant Application Center and Google DeepMind, with access expanding to selected early adopters afterwards. Robot Harbour therefore classifies Atlas as a pilot-stage platform rather than a shipping mass-market product.
UK and European availability
No UK or European sales, pricing or general delivery programme has been confirmed. Potential buyers should treat demonstrations and research partnerships separately from commercial availability.
