Stan is Stanley Robotics’ autonomous vehicle-moving platform. It lifts parked cars and transports them under the direction of fleet-management software, without requiring the car itself to drive.

Service and specifications

The manufacturer’s robot page describes a managed service covering deployment, software and maintenance. It advertises lifting cars up to three tonnes, autonomous charging, obstacle detection and a 10km/h technical speed. These are platform specifications; individual sites can impose lower limits.

UK deployment

London Gatwick now advertises bookable robotic parking, with cars collected from enclosed drop-off bays. The airport’s launch announcement identifies Stanley Robotics and confirms that on-site assistance is available. This is a British service deployment, not a retail robot offer.

Gatwick’s launch documentation specifies a 2.6-tonne vehicle limit, below the manufacturer’s general three-tonne figure. Travellers should check current booking conditions and compatibility directly with the airport. The specific hardware revision at Gatwick is not separately verified.

Availability and evidence

Commercial service enquiries are available from Stanley Robotics. Robot purchase prices, third-party UK repair accreditation and model-level security-support terms are unverified. Sources and current Gatwick service page checked 5 October 2026.
