AEON is Hexagon’s industrial humanoid for handling, inspection and measurement. Its human-proportioned upper body combines with wheeled mobility and interchangeable grippers or scanning tools.
Specifications and deployment
The manufacturer specification lists 165cm height, 60kg mass, 34 degrees of freedom and a top speed of 2.4m/s. Rated payload is 15kg for short periods or 8kg continuously. Hexagon advertises five hours per charge and automatic battery exchange; these are supplier ratings, not independent operating results.
Hexagon’s June update describes AEON performing production tasks at BMW Leipzig while further applications are trained. Its August Schaeffler update concerns training and validation before a planned larger rollout.
Availability
Robot Harbour classifies AEON as a pilot-stage system with European industrial activity. A public purchase price, general UK sales route and British customer deployment remain unverified. Announced fleet targets should not be read as completed deliveries.
