Humanoid is a London-based private robotics company developing wheeled and bipedal humanoid robots for industrial, service and research applications, together with its proprietary KinetIQ physical-AI stack.
Why Humanoid matters
Founded by Artem Sokolov in 2024, Humanoid has moved quickly from prototype development into industrial trials and announced deployment agreements. In July 2026 the company raised a $152 million Series A at a reported $1.35 billion post-money valuation, bringing its stated total funding to $270 million. Prime Movers Lab led the round, with participation from Schaeffler, Bosch, Fubon Financial Holding Venture Capital and Aglaé Ventures.
The company describes itself as Europe’s first pure-play humanoid-robotics unicorn. Robot Harbour treats that wording as a company claim rather than an independently defined market category.
Robots and physical AI
Humanoid’s principal industrial system is the HMND 01 Alpha Wheeled, a tall dual-arm robot built around an omnidirectional mobile base. The HMND 01 Alpha Bipedal is a separate research-stage platform aimed at locomotion, service and home-related development.
Both systems use KinetIQ. Humanoid describes KinetIQ as a four-layer architecture spanning whole-body control, vision-language-action policies, single-robot task execution and fleet-level orchestration.
Industrial evidence
Humanoid and Schaeffler announced a binding, phased agreement targeting a four-digit number of wheeled robots across Schaeffler facilities by 2032. The first deployment phase is scheduled for German sites between December 2026 and June 2027. Bosch is acting as contract-manufacturing partner and providing hardware, production and supply-chain expertise.
A separate trial at Siemens’ electronics factory in Erlangen recorded 60 tote moves per hour, more than eight hours of uptime and a pick-and-place success rate above 90%, according to the jointly issued Siemens announcement. These figures are useful deployment evidence, but they remain first-party trial results rather than independent fleet-scale benchmarking.
Commercial position
Humanoid plans to begin rolling out beta robots at customer sites in the fourth quarter of 2026 and to start mass manufacturing its wheeled platform. Those remain forward-looking company targets. Public pricing and general purchasing availability have not been disclosed.
